Coeurimba
Inspired by an early performance by Dumi at Seattle’s Folklife Festival, the Coeur d’Alene Marimba Band was formed by Thomas Orjala in the mid-1980’s; the group is now known as Coeurimba. Their arrangements are from traditional Zimbabwean themes, some sacred and some reflecting everyday Shona life. The band would like to thank all the musicians and mentors who have generously imparted a love of Zimbabwe’s Shona culture and music to Coeurimba members, past and present.
CCA
Thomas is a long standing volunteer with Coeur d’ Alene’s largest art fair, Art on the Green sponsored by Citizens Council for the Arts (CCA). He can usually be found helping at one of the stages or working in the Art Space booth helping aspiring artists with their projects.
